What is a long-term missionary?
A long-term missionary of CMO, is a missionary who serves 6 months or more.
What opportunities does CMO offer for long-term missionaries?
New Hope English School needs your help in the area of teaching English. Classes run from 5:30-6:30pm and use the Interchange curriculum, which is easy to teach from and requires no previous experience. You will be assigned a class to teach daily.
Opportunities for witnessing and discipleship abound here at CMO. Many students of NHES are not believers, but are willing to spend time getting to know you and conversing about whatever topic that will help them practice their new English skills. Use these times wisely, as there is no time like the present to tell people about the Gospel.
The new believers that result from the work here also need your attention. Mature Christians who stand solidly upon the written Word are few and far between in Cambodia. Use one of the 1000’s of sermons you have heard, and teach these Christians vital foundational truths that are taken for granted in the West. Strengthen the faith of these believers, and be the example that they need to see.
Bible teaching is also in demand. As of January/09, two Bible studies (one for the men, one for the women) have been started, and we would love to see this continued. The ongoing needs of teaching, and discipleship prompted the starting of these studies.
What does CMO require of me?
It is strongly encouraged that you first come to CMO as a short-term missionary. We would like to give you the opportunity to come see our ministry and help out for a short time, so you can decide if the work of this ministry is something you would like to commit to on a long-term basis.
A long-term missionary must have adequate financial support, and their finances can be
directed through our non-profit organization Cambodian Mission Outreach which will also supply tax receipts for your sponsors.
As a long-term missionary with CMO, we would expect you to abide by all rules and regulations that we set. These are not to be a burden to any, but are to provide safety and also to preserve the integrity of the long-term ministry we have established here.
We ask that as a CMO missionary, you would devote a minimum of 5hrs/day with our specific ministry. After that, you are free to serve other ministries at will, providing you let us know your schedule, and keep us informed of any pertinent events
